To say that events had blown themselves out of proportion, it would be an understatement and only made Vanitas entirely too happy to have latched onto the ever enigmatic Noé! He wanted to know everything about him, while keeping his own secrets intact because he didn't know who on this earth would be the one to try and steal the book.
Granted it was kind of bound to him by obligation and name but that didn't mean others wouldn't come to try and steal it like some kind of petty thief. Not that he figured Noè was just a thief; his moves back on the airship proved that and life was already much better now that they were on solid ground in Paris, and he'd finally gotten the over-sized vampire manchild to actually not stick his face against some of the shop windows long enough that he got them their very own carriage. Well... okay. It was more of what you'd call a sort of 'car' or something along those lines but they were driven by someone else and he flippantly told the driver a location while shooing Noé into the car.
It was incredibly spacious as it was, making the dark haired doctor lounge back into the seat before almost dramatically crossing one leg over the other and his arms extending out to rest along the top of the seat he was on.
"So... Noé.... Are you ever going to peel your face from the window of this carriage?" A grin curled his lips knowingly, seeming entirely too pleased with himself even if the almost dirty look he got from that rotten little cat spoke more volumes than anything else. He didn't even know what the poor animal's problem was with him because hey. He was a good guy... mostly.
So what if a few intentions were skewed somewhat?

Of course he was irritating and flamboyant and Noe didn't like his methods, he couldn't help but feel like there was something he was missing yey, underneath all of that. Still- it was hard to try and give him that benefit when he continued to act in that same irritating manner that he'd never liked in the first place.
"What would you have me do? There's still a long ride to the outskirts of the city." And naturally, he assumed that Vanitas was just making trouble for the sake of riling him up. This was why he had trouble liking the man. He was... difficult!!

This was MUCH more preferable to trying to walk, seeing as in here he didn't have to track the other down whenever he saw something that caught his attention. Noe was, even with that, entirely too interesting though and why he was enjoying his time with him, despite some choice things that'd been said. So what if they ended up in prison for a bit and then had to go see that super important man before chaos kind of hit and they ended up in this little situation? Details, Details. What mattered was that they were stuck in this thing until they reached the outskirts of Paris and he'd go mad if he just had nothing else but silence as his companion.
"You've admittedly made your point clear before... but... you could at least talk to me.. or show me more of those little cute faces you end up making when you find something new you haven't seen before" Perhaps it was bad to try and rile up a vampire who'd once before punched him in the stomach, kicked a desk across a room and threw a book into his face, but he really couldn't help boredom and the innate need to just test all the limits where he could.

Taking a deep breath, he peels his eyes away from the window and slowly shifts; turning in towards his reclining partner. "...fine. What would you like to talk about?" Because of the two choices, it's the only one he's willing to choose.

Date: 2016-01-29 10:41 pm (UTC)Vanitas made a point of giving two very different things as options and knowing the other would pick the tamer one of the two, as it was somewhat predictable. "I'd simply like you to give me your thoughts on this matter and if you truly think we're going to be able to track down the curse-bearer in time to save Miss Amelia." His tone was remotely calm for once as he regarded the other, moving to sit more upright instead of the laid-back posture he'd been in beforehand.
He's not done getting a reaction out of the other; call it payback for making him chase him across Paris earlier every time he took eyes off of him.
Though for now he was playing nice, ice-blue eyes sternly focused on the vampire before him as he laced his gloved fingers together where they rested. Truly, he wanted the other's assertion that they could do this and to know that this wasn't just some impulse thing of his.

Granted, the kicking a desk across the room would prove that just th same, but words do speak just as well as actions and I'm glad your will won't wane any." There was a casual shrug of Vanitas' shoulders at that, exhaling a small sigh. "Call it what you will, but it is a hefty task, plus I really look forwards to seeing you more in action, Noé" A grin and he raised a leg up to nudge Noé's knee almost teasingly.
"Though for now, loosen up. If you can't, maybe you can just vent that frustration out on me. I'm sure I could take it."
